This page is designed to showcase some of the many educational "tools" and resources that
we utilize. Feel free to browse and try out some of our selections.
Blogs -A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with
regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.
Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb,
meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. To see a simple blog I created, use the following link:

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online
diaries.
Wikis - A wiki is a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or
modify content, using a simplified markup language. Teachers can learn more about wikis using the
following link: http://www.wikispaces.com/help+teachers#toc8 . To see a simple wiki I created, use

Cmaps - Concept maps are graphical tools for organizing and representing knowledge. They include
concepts, usually enclosed in circles or boxes of some type, and relationships between concepts
indicated by a connecting line linking two concepts. To view a sample: My life and times.
WebQuests - A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which some or all of the information that
learners interact with comes from resources on the internet. To see a simple webquest I created, use
the following link: victor's webquest.
Mailing lists - A mailing list is a collection of names and addresses used by an individual or an
organization to send material to multiple recipients.
Discussion boards - A discussion board (discussion group , discussion forum , message board , and
online forum ) is a general term for any online "bulletin board" where you can leave messages and
expect to see responses to messages you have left. Or you can just read the board.
